Tropical Destination Weddings with a Full Moon – A Good Idea for You?

Frequently it is the most creative, romantic couples who choose to indulge in a destination wedding! Destination weddings are fresh and fun, featuring a non-traditional setting and a well thought-out wedding timeline to create memories that the couple and their guests will not soon forget!

For couples planning their destination wedding in Los Cabos, naturally beautiful in and of itself, imagine taking the preparations one step farther by timing your wedding to take place the evening of a full moon! Why not use nature’s lighting to add spectacular effects to your evening’s activities? Planning that tropical, seaside wedding to coincide with a full moon can only amplify the drama and beauty of the occasion.

Before you worry about “catching” a full moon, please realize that, scientifically, the exact moment of a full moon is very brief. However, the moon appears to be full for one to two days before and after the actual moment of the full moon. So – consult a calendar that shows the phases of the moon, to see if it will work to your advantage!

Brides and Grooms truly need to hire the best photographers they can afford for any wedding, but because of the additional light available for night photography with a full moon, be sure you get artistic photographers who can skillfully use the moonlight and its effects for the most radiant photos.

There is one result of planning your wedding to coincide with a full moon that will require some specific planning. That is the tide. If your dream wedding and following activities require a large open beach to accommodate your activities, you need to consider that at high tide, caused by the pull of the full moon on the Earth, the dry part of the beach will be smaller than what it is at low tide. Perhaps you will need to think about moving your festivities poolside or onto a terrace above the beach.

Only you can decide if you want to add a full moon into the mix of memories that will be your wedding. Happy planning!  ~ Article written by Marci
